Pekanbaru LPPM: One of the Lecturers in the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering and also the Chair of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Universitas Islam Riau, Dr. Evizal Abdul Kadir, ST, M.Eng as Visiting Research Scholar at the World’s Leading University Harvard University, Boston, United States.

Where is Dr. Evizal conducted research together with one of the Professors at Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) with the research title being about the environment related to conditions in Indonesia, especially in Riau Province. The research, entitled Environmental Monitoring System using Nano Sensors Integrated to Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and Internet of Things (IoT) Technology, is expected to contribute to environmental monitoring in Indonesia.

Program sponsored by Fulbright America where in Indonesia this activity is managed by the American Indonesia Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) and Dr. Evizal is one of the Grantees from a fairly competitive selection and successfully graduated together with lecturers from other universities and institutions. This activity will be implemented for 6 months starting from September 2021 to February 2022.

Chancellor of Riau Islamic University Prof. Dr. Syafrinaldi, SH, MCL welcomed and provided full support for this activity where Lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering can collaborate with leading world-class universities, namely Harvard University, which is ranked in the top 5 in the world based on QS Ranking 2022. The Chancellor further stated that this means that Engineering Lecturers are not inferior to other university lecturers who can go international are in line with the Vision and Mission of UIR in 2041, namely to become a world-class Riau Islamic University based on faith and piety and it is hoped that this activity can be beneficial for the Islamic University of Riau and Indonesia in general, with the hope that there will be other UIR lecturers in the future. who could follow in Dr. Evizal said.
